The Bride of Christ
The Lord is my Shepherd; therefore, I have everything I need. Psalm 23:1 Sisters, you may find yourself in a deep fulfilling relationship right now or maybe you are longing and waiting for him to find you? Wherever you find yourself I want to encourage you today that our good Shepherd has an endless supply of good gifts for his daughters. At the same time, I believe he desires for us to be content with what we have.
Today, my date with Jesus is a simple, serene setting on my patio in my prettiest PJ’s. We are grazing on Charcuterie and sipping Chenin Blanc. My posture is one of kneeling before the Father on my sweet sisters behalf. I want to intercede for all of you and affirm you to have confidence in a future with a wonderful spouse. I have great hope that He has that for you because he planted that desire in you. Since 2005, when I called off my wedding I have been wearing a ring on my right ring finger. It has one flower at the bottom connected to three flower’s that holds them all together. I visualize it has the Father, Son and Holy Spirit protecting and keeping me. I also look to it as a reminder of my name, which means “Pure”. Beautiful sisters, Jesus calls you His bride. He calls you His beautiful masterpiece. You are His pearl of great worth. You are Beloved to Him and He holds you near and dear to His heart.
Let’s take a moment to visualize a bride. She is adorned in white, her jewels sparkle, her flowers make her look more feminine and she herself blossoms. She has made herself ready for her husband. What if we approached our heavenly Father as if He really were the Bridegroom? What if we presented ourself to Him as a bride presents herself to her beloved? Have you experienced this type of relationship with God? Do you experience Him more as a friend, as a father or a husband? Can you challenge yourself to receive His passion? Will you ask Him to free your soul to receive His joy and desire? Will you let Him romance you and have you all to Himself?
Dear Jesus~I am eager and I come to you with an open spirit. May your Holy Spirit saturate this time in prayer. Cleanse me Father from old ways, habits, hang-ups and ways of thinking about myself that have gotten me stuck in the wrong relationships. Help me in this Season not to force something to happen that “seems” right. I don’t want to manipulate circumstances just to have a guy in my life. Please help me to sit in this waiting room and learn how to discern your ways. I can do a lot of things in “Kate’s” (insert your name here) strength, but I need your supernatural strength. Equip me for your refinement. I know it’s going to hurt at times, but it is worth coming out pure like gold. Father, I want to know your voice better than any other voice I hear. Abba, I love your abandoned pursuit of me. I love that you call me Hezibah which means chosen, set apart, spoken for by you and eventually by a wise, covenant man. I love that you say you are enthralled with my beauty. In the meantime, protect me from counterfeits and cheap substitutes. I remain under your wing and in the shadow hidden with Christ in God. I give you my future Father. I release my past to you as well and commit now to laying down the memories and experiences that may hold me captive. I affirm that I am your bride and I delight in being adored by you. Thank you! It’s in your precious name I pray. Amen.
“Daughters of Kings are among your honored women; at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir. Listen, O daughter, consider and give ear; Forget your people and your father’s house. The king is enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord.” Psalm 45:9-10
