Abundant Showers

I am pressing the pause button today on all work and activity to spend the day with Jesus.  Maybe you can find a day in the upcoming week to do the same and give yourself the invitation to a day date with Him?  Today we are headed to Kiawah (a breathtaking beach and preserve outside of Charleston, SC) with my dog for a long prayer walk and lunch at The Sanctuary.  The spirit has been speaking to me about abundance.  We are lavished with it; it is all around us in beauty, people, relationships, places we visit, etc. Psalm 68:9-10 says, “You gave abundant showers; O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance.  Your people settled in it, and from your bounty, O God, you provided for the poor.” Sisters, there is so much competing for our attention and I urge you to take a quick inventory of your life and examine how you might simplify things in order to see and experience the abundance around you.  He has come that we might have life and not just a bare bones life, but life to the Fullest!

I have had seasons in my life as a Christian that I have grown so weary from pushing and striving that I have missed pieces of the abundance and simplicity God wanted to give me.  A few years ago I learned about Margin.  Margin is the space between your limits and your load meaning there should be a gap where there is time available to you when you are not attending to your commitments.  Are you willing to discover some new margin in your life?  Do you have any margin now?  Is the spirit speaking to your about the abundant life He wants for you?  Let us pray for a simple kind of life where we savor all of the goodness and beauty given to us.

Dear Jesus~I come before you on behalf of my dear sisters.  I intercede for them now to dive into the sacredness of the abundant life.  You have called us to rest and to work.  You have given us a choice about how we divide our time.  I pray that we would pause to ask you what you think about this area of our lives.  Are we striving so hard that we are missing it?  Do we need a fresh download of your newness and beauty?  You say in your word that you make everything beautiful in it’s time.  May we go about our day yearning for you.  We need your presence.  Help us to be present and in the moment today.  May we be a blessing to those we encounter and walk in sensitivity to your Holy Spirit.  Thank you for your plentiful abundance.  You are so gracious and we love you.  In Jesus Name.  Amen

“How priceless is your unfailing love!  Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.  They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.  For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.” Psalm 36:7-9
