Expectant _________ (put your name there)
As I sit here and pen this, my sweet fiance is on his way to the mountains. I get to have a girls weekend and I couldn’t be more excited. My friend is coming over to have cake and champagne tonight to celebrate our engagement. I cannot wait! In the meantime, Jesus and I are meeting together on my patio nook. He is talking to me this morning about being expectant in Him. His plans are so amazing and good. His ways and precepts are right. Expectant in Webster’s means having or showing an excited feeling that something is about to happen, especially something pleasant and interesting. We can count on Abba showing up for us with amazing surprises and gifts. Remember sisters, Every good and perfect gift comes from the God who doesn’t shift like shifting shadows.
Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” This is my prayer and wish for you dear one. TRUST him. Come to Him and give Him all of your deepest desires. He will deliver. He has done that for me and I am confident He will do it for you as well.
A few years ago, my mentor at the time started calling me “Expectant Kate”. She felt like the season I was in rendered itself worthy of this attitude. Though my husband didn’t come along in that season, there were still many things to be expectant and excited about. Your heart is safe in His faithful hands. Give your love to the Father fully. Love Him with all your heart, soul and strength. It’s so worth it. Now may we pray for our husbands and for our hearts to be Expectant in Him. You are “Expectant _________”! Amen?
I cannot believe we are here at Date Number #40. The writing will continue. I’ll be doing another #40 dates for engaged and married people. I await the unfolding of this process as we prepare for marriage in just 20 weeks. It’s a season full of desire and waiting and goodness and celebrations and I couldn’t be happier.
