Igniting the Spark!
I love the creative life, sisters! It is my hope that you do as well, even if you don’t create art or do arts n’ crafts that is perfectly okay. We are all artists in some form or fashion. I believe living a creative life means integrating the parts of our brain that controls creativity and the art. This is the left brain and it controls the right side of the body. How remarkable that living a creative life sets us right smack dab in the middle of our deep gladness and where God calls us vocationally? What a wonder that He would create us so brilliantly.
How do you view the creative life? Are you aware of your vocation and your deep gladness that Abba has put in you? How might we ignite a spark in you that sets this creative livelihood in motion? Ephesians 2:10 says,” For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].” Sister, this is such an honor and privilege as His daughters. May we explore more of how we are made for His Kingdom work and just how much it in turn fulfills us.
Today Jesus and I are having a breakfast at a new little biscuit shop. It smells like my Grandma’s kitchen in here and it is heavenly. Today Abba is teaching me about creative vocation and reminding me to sew into this dynamic part of my being. He would like for you to do the same. We will spend some time in prayer over this area and really ask God to illuminate our creative brains and give us some ideas about how to activate this area if it isn’t already. One thing I absolutely love ladies is how much my love embraces this part of me. It’s as if it calls out to him and invites him to be more creative in his life too. It’s a beautiful thing! May we pray for our creative vocational lives and for our mates as well.
Dear Jesus~You are the author of my vocational life and story. You are so good to me and I love the way you placed this deep gladness in me in the area where I’m called to serve. It is the sweetest marriage between desire, what I’m good at and who I’m meant to be. Thank you! I also thank you that you are the dream giver. I desire to dream again about the creative life. I want to flourish in this way of life for your glory! I desire to be your handiwork and workmanship. Please beckon my fiancé to come close to you as well and seek out the voice of vocation. He is so gifted and I want him to thrive in his calling, May we be strengthened in our innermost being like you talk about in Ephesians 3. May we arise in strength! Thank you Jesus that you have prepared the work of my hands already and all I need to do it show up and create. I love you Jesus and it’s in your name I pray. Amen!
