Run this race……..
It’s the dawning of a new day sweet sisters and I’m encouraged to talk to you about running this race of life with perseverance ! The word for today is as follows, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” Hebrews 12:1-3
Today Jesus and I are home on the back deck watching the blue heron and osprey fly over the water. They symbolize peace, serenity and healing and I adore it when they hover over my little deck. I love how the sun comes up over this humble, little lake and brings me such joy. This scripture isn’t necessarily the easiest one because it requires us to evaluate our sin issues and motives. The word entanglement in Webster’s means a complicated or compromising situation or relationship. It is so important for us to take an inventory of our interpersonal relationships and situations in our lives that may be toxic and holding us back from God’s best.
Are you in the market for God’s best in all ways? Do you desire to align your relationships and life circumstances with Him? As it is said in Proverbs we are to in ALL ways acknowledge Him and He will make our paths straight. Surrender is also not an easy thing, but it is so very worth it. Take it from me who is one of the most stubborn people I know. I have been driven and determined since I was a toddler and it has cost me a lot especially in my adult years. I have rounded a similar mountain of circumstances many times because I went my own way. Sisters, let us work on loosening our grip and taking a close look at our entanglements. We desire to step into freedom and run this race well, amen? Let us spend some time praying for our husbands now. We hope and pray they are also in a season of evaluation and taking inventory. Letting go sets us free!!!
Dear Jesus~Thank you for your unfailing love. Thank you that you rejoice over me AND my future husband with singing. Thank you that you are teaching him to love more like Christ. Thank you that you have freedom for us both today from situations and relationships that entangle our lives with sin and strife. Father deliver us! Move in us! We delight to run this race with deep perseverance. Thank you that you are the author and perfecter of our faith. Please give us the sweet gift of faith this day and all of our days. Thank you for this upcoming union and how delightful it will be to meet. You have our times and season in your faithful hands. Thank you, Father. I am grateful in my heart and soul. It’s in your precious name I pray. Amen!
