On Being Reconciled!
Today my sisters we are going to have a talk about being reconciled! I have recently had a situation I NEVER thought possible creep into my life and it involves a very dear friend and I not being back on solid footing. The word of God is very clear that as believers we are CALLED to be reconciled. This morning the devotional I came across talked about how God actually prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies. This gave me such great comfort!
Reconciliation is defined as the restoration of friendly relations. In the Bible, reconciliation involves a change in the relationship between God and man or man and man. It assumes there has been a breakdown in the relationship, but now there has been a change from a state of enmity and fragmentation to one of harmony and fellowship. Jesus and I are hanging out this morning at another new little cafe that has popped up specializing in Biscuits. Needless to say, I am not dining on biscuits as I am choosing the healthy route. We are communing on this very important topic that can save a relationship and bring great glory to God.
Colossians 3:13 says, “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” May we hope and pray that our future husbands are in right relationship with their friends and acquaintances. This is vital for the health and life of the body sisters! May we stop, evaluate and take an inventory regarding our relationships. If we are still unreconciled, may we run to that person and seek peace. I know for myself I desire to live at peace with all men.
Let us spend some time in prayer for our relationship and those we may have a grievance against. May we go to them and bring our gift offering as it talks about in Matthew 18. My friends, may our hearts yearn to be right with God and with another. Now let us pray! Dear Jesus~ Thank you for my life and friends. I am so grateful to have such amazing people to fellowship and do life with in community. I pray for this relationship that is hurt and wounded now and that you would bring supernatural repair. I pray for my future spouses relationships and all of his affairs. I pray he is an upright man with great integrity. Father please have you way with my whole life and all of my friendships. Sometimes friendships have a season under heaven and if I need to let go I will. Take this day, take all of my affairs and keep me in great tune with you. In Jesus name. Amen!
